Busy Busy, Fun Fun

We have continued March 2008 with another busy week gone. This week we went to gymnastics on Monday. Tuesday Julia and I stopped by the mall and got her ears pierced! Julia had already been asking to go have this done. She is such a girly girl! I explained to her that is would hurt a little and she still wanted it done. Amazingly, she didn't cry or flinch when she got them pierced! She has an unusually high pain tolerance, I think. This could be good or bad. This is Julia pre ear piercing!

Post Ear Piercing

Then we were able to go visit Rachel and her three girls who are in town this week.
Rachel and Julianne

Me, Julia, and Julianne

Wednesday Julia woke up with a high fever. So we just hung out most of the day and I gave her Motrin and Tylenol. I know you must be thinking that this is related to the ear piercing, but her ears look great. Thursday she still wasn't 100%, but the fever was much lower. I decided to take her to her pediatrician, just in case. She is fine, just a virus! Another very exciting thing is that Julia peed in the potty twice yesterday! She has been telling us before hand now.

Pee Pee in the Potty!!!! Yeah!

Big girl panties!

I'm so cute in my new girl panties. I'm going to call and tell all my friends!
We are so excited! Now today(Friday), she is feeling good and ready to go full speed again. I think John is planning on us all going to the circus tonight with his friend and daughters.

Happy Easter Slide Show!

Harry's Birthday!

Last Wednesday we were able to celebrate Harry's Birthday with him! We went to Dave and Busters for dinner and play. We created a pretty big crowd: Mom, Adam, Bryan, Kim, Harry, Jenna, Casey, John, Julia, and me!

Rainy Day

This morning it is very rainy outside, so it has been easier to sleep in. Luckily for me, Julia may give me a few minutes to post this blog before she wakes up. I'm happy that it's raining so that I don't have to water the lawn. Plus, it's really nice after it rains and everything is clean and fresh outside.
Anyway, this past week has been beautiful outside. Sunny skies and 70 degree weather. Only thing I'm missing is a little beach and a little piece of the ocean. I think I could retire next to the ocean. However, I do have my doubts sometimes....you know the hurricanes I might be able to tolerate, but the thought of a tsunami makes me a little frightened. Yeah sure, logically I know that a hurricane is way more likely, but come on I know that weather is changing all the time. Plus, it seems now when we do have a tornadoes and hurricanes they are worse.
So last week with the weather so nice we all got to get out and go on lots of brisk walks and park trips.

Girls Day Out

Julia, Kim, and I decided to go and have a manicure/pedicure after my ob appt. on Tuesday. Julia was very excited and very good. First, we had to wait a little while until it was our turn. During the wait we all picked colors for our toes and hands. Julia picked Rudolf Red.
Julia smiling soooo BIG. She is my little cutie.

Mommy and Julia getting a pedicure. Julia was soooo still. I was a little suprised, but she likes getting her toes painted at home and stays pretty still. Right after this we both got our manicures too. The nail care person was very worried about getting it perfect. I don't think she paints a lot of two and a half year olds!
Final gorgeous result! So cute. Her hands looked great too. She is such a girlie girl. All in all, Kim, Julia, and I had a great day! I'm so glad that I have Kim so close to come along on our little adventures. First because I know she has fun with us. Second because she is very helpful with Julia. So thank you so much Kim. Love you!

Baby Brother 19 Weeks!!

profile of baby brother. head , body, arm
arm and fist of baby brother

Today I had a doctors appointment with my specialist ob/gyn. No problems at all. Everything is growing beautifully. My doctor gave me this CD of about 20 pictures that I could post on here, but I figured two was pretty good. There was also a pretty graphic view that leaves no doubt in our minds that yes indeed it is a BOY! I figured that I'd only show that to people who really wanted to see and maybe a few other random unsuspecting souls. lol. Anyway, we are very excited about baby brother. Of course he doesn't have a name yet. At this point he is mostly know as baby brother and The Fetus. Yeah, I'd like to pick a name, but my significant other tends to be too picky and doesn't like any of the names that I do. Thus far he has only suggested one name. I have suggested like 20! All vetoed thus far!!! I have a feeling that I may just have to put my foot down on the one! lol. He had the final word with Julia....I picked her middle name...Ashlyn. Therefore, she did turn up to have a pretty great name. yup, yup. Anyway, maybe you all would like to help pick a name. Go ahead make a few good suggestions....we might just pick the name! Love you all!!

Snow Day in Texas 2008

This is Julia and mommy (Amanda), just before we went out to play. As you can tell Julia can hardly contain herself!

This is Daddy (John) and Julia as they first walk outside and into the snow. Oh yeah, it is about midnight. Good thing we live a late night schedule or we'd have been fast asleep and missed it all!! I know some of you are thinking, you put Julia to bed at 1:30am. Yes! It works out great! She wakes up at 11am and it's perfect! I am certainly NOT a morning person!
This is Julia amazed by the snow.
I took a picture of the snow coming down and the back of my house so that everyone would know that yes, this is actually my house in TEXAS! and not just some family vacation pictures somewhere else!

Julia about to take off her gloves. Pink nosed and a little damp. We had a fabulous time! Just ask her. She will tell you!
Well, it's true, Texas weather can change in the blink of an eye. On Sunday it was 75 degrees, then last night (Monday) it was 32, now (Tuesday afternoon) it's 55. Anyway, last night it SNOWED! I was really excited because i think if it is going to be cold (which I don't like) it might as well snow. Plus, Julia has never seen snow before. We decided to get dressed very warmly and go play for a little bit. We all had a great time, but Julia loved it. She kept saying "it's snowing!"

Typical Sundays

This is a typical Sunday in our house. Julia wakes up early and gets ready to go to church with Nonny and Prampa. However, today was not like others. Miss Julia decided she was too sleepy. Julia really loves church and she loves to pray. She says the sweetest things during her prayer. Usually I help start her prayers but then she adds all the things she is grateful for. Kim,Harry,Nonny,Prampa, Daddy, Mommy, Elmo, birthday party's, cake, Jesus, baby brother.....and so many other cute things. Julia teaches us a lot about the small things we should be thankful for and her sweet little spirit blesses our lives every day.

When Julia gets home for church I'm normally waking up from sleeping since now I work nights. John typically makes us a good lunch. Today was spaghetti....mmm. Then we go for speed walks, so that I can try and stay healthy. Or we will take Julia outside to play. (as seen above) Unfortunately today Texas weather is being crazy again. It has gone from 78 degrees to about 48 degrees! Ugh!

Bryans Party

Well, Feb 28th was Bryans Birthday, but we celebrated last night. We just had a small ice cream cake because everyone knows we don't need any more naughty treats. Only my dad and chris couldn't make it. However, we were happy to have Nena and Jenna to help us celebrate. Bryan is the baby of the family and it is so odd to think that he just turned 20!

Julia likes to take family members by the hand and say "come on ("Jenna, Abum, Brynan, Kim, Nonny, Prampa") go to playroom. She is always excited to have family to play with. They become her own personal play toys too. Jenna experienced this last night when Julia was demanding horseback rides on Jennas back.
