Uncle Adam moved out!

We were certainly sad to see Uncle Adam leave after almost two years of living with us. On August 2nd uncle Adam moved out! He will be missed, but he must move on and grow. Hope you enjoyed your time with us as much as we enjoyed you living here! Love you!

Look at that face, Uncle Adam might just be ready to live without kids in the house!

Bryce helps!

Julia Helps!

Uncle Adam and Bryce try to keep cool on this 105 degree day! Hottest day of summer so far!

Julia turned 5!

Sweet Birthday Girl!

Julia's party was on August 14th. Time sure flies.

We had a nice little party at our home and friends and family came to celebrate with us.

She has a Little Mermaid theme and the snacks and cake were delicious.

Julia had fun opening presents and the kids enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and playing in the kiddie pool. She really seemed to love her new Disney Movie: The Princess and the Frog. She also really loved a little mermaid spa kit that mommy, daddy, and Bryce got for her. Of course Aunt Kim was there and cousin Rylie.

On her actual birthday, August 18th, we went to my friend Joy's neighborhood pool with daddy and Bryce and then to swim with Uncle Adam O at his new apartment complex.

School is OUT! plus other changes

John graduated LVN school! We are so proud of him and were able to attend his graduation last week. It's been a long road, but he did it! Now, to get him a hospital job and into a transition to RN program!
I just finished my English 2 class! 3 credits in 5 weeks was intense, but worth it. I guess I'll just take my time finishing up my bachelors program because I still have about 15 classes to take. Julia and Bryce have been troopers about it all. They'd ask to play with us and both John and I would say, we had school work. My kids come first and it didn't feel like that while I was in this class.
Julia and Bryce also just completed their first dance classes. They had fun and it certainly was enjoyable watching them grow in these classes. Julia is super excited for fall because she knows she gets to start soccer classes.
Uncle Adam moved out!!! We were all sad to see him go, but we know that he was ready to be on his own. We will miss him and the extra security he brought to our home.
I am 32 1/2 weeks pregnant and time is certainly flying by with how busy we've been keeping ourselves. I am hoping to make it at least 5 1/2 more weeks. You never know with me, I tend to deliver early! I still have lots to get done before sweet little girl comes. I must organize and move Julia to her new room. Go through all baby stuff and figure out if we need anything...besides diapers and some bottles, I doubt it. Plus, Julia starts schools soon too! In the mean time, I will continue trying to get a few hours of sleep in between the frequent bathroom breaks and aches and pains of this heavy belly! As far as names go...it's slow going. I try my hardest to find cute names, but John says no to all of them. Soooo, I am just going to pick a name and not metion it to him anymore. Then, when baby girl comes I'll already have a name picked and he won't be able to say no! Tonight I really like Lauren Mikayla Gilbreath. Julia has been a big advocate for Mikayla since we found out I was pregnant. We shall see!

Swim lessons and Ballet

Oh yes, we have been able to put the kids in activities this summer and it has been great fun for me and the kids. The kids have actually done two sessions of swim lessons and are learning incredibly fast. Julia is in the "Shrimp" class and is being taught to float on her back and how to bob up and down in the water. She loves to play the shark game and is just a fish in the water. Bryce is the star of his class. We are taking a mom and tot class and I'm able to help him in the water. Many of the parents express how he is doing so well and how he has no fear. (that can be good or bad depending on how you view it!)He loves to jump in and try to swim to the wall. He also enjoys throwing pool rings and and retrieving them with his hands or feet! Funniest thing he does in water is when he grabs he feet, curls in to a ball and just floats. I am so glad they were able to take swim lessons and hope that soon they will be strong swimmers.
Julia and Bryce are also taking dance at the local dance studio. Bryce has been so slow to warm up to taking the class. He is timid and doesn't want to leave my side. I am the only parent that stays in the class to help her child. Bryce is the very youngest, and has become clingy over the past two months. I think he still likes to go, he just wants to make 100% sure that I'm not leaving him there alone!! Julia looks so adorable in her leotard and ballet skirt. She is learning basic ballet and tap moves and is in a small class so she has lots of attention from the teachers.
Julia is looking forward to starting soccer in the fall.

Bryce's 2nd Birthday/summer activities

I really don't see how we could be any busier! I've been so busy that I haven't even posted Bryce's Birthday on here and that was on July 7th (immediate family) and July 10th (all family) My handsome son is growing into the cutest little boy. He is enamored with Jeeps, shoes, and video games (to my dismay). I always hoped John would play video games in a closet and not expose the kids to this horrible time waster, but no such luck. With Bryce it was love at first sight. If daddy has the PlayStation remote out Bryce must also have one. He is my little cuddle monkey. He loves to dance with or without me. He loves music and my iPhone. Amazingly he knows how to use it and maneuver through to the games he wants to play. Great distractor for both the kids when I have to go to the store. This year we had a little family fun night with Aunt Kim on Bryce's actual Birthday. We went to Chuck E Cheese and just played a ton of games with the kids. Bryce loves ski ball but just can't seem to get the balls all the way up the ramp and into the holes. On July 10th we had a Toy Story 3 themed 2nd Birthday Party. There was easily 35 family members and close friends there to wish Bryce a Happy Birthday. We ate pizza, cake and ice cream and the kids jumped on the trampoline and swam in the little pool out back. We had the Toy Story movies playing in the back ground of the party and just generally had a great time. Bryce also got a Woody Toy of his own and a Buzz Light Year. He really loves to carry them around and play with them.
This summer we are managing to stay incredibly busy and keep our minds off the fact that the baby is coming so fast! I'm already 1/2 way into pregnancy week 30 and the sweet little girl is still not named. I haven't gone through any of Julia's old stuff to see what I have vs what we still need. She has no room yet, though that is coming. It is with mixed emotions that Uncle Adam will be moving out to be on his own in just one week. We have enjoyed him in our home and will miss him dearly! However, time marches on and he is on to complete independence. Hopefully he will not forget where we live!! Baby girl seems to be growing right on track and kicking mommy all the time. I have heartburn pretty frequently and it's getting a little more uncomfortable to sleep! I think the kids are both excited about the expectant addition to our little family. Julia continues to throw out name ideas and constantly wants to measure my belly. She kiss my belly and tells her little sister how much she loves her. Bryce points to my belly and says "baby." He is also intrigued by nearly every baby he sees on the street. A few weeks ago he was carrying his own little baby doll around (one he borrowed from his sister) and was taking care of baby like a good little daddy. My children are so sweet I can't wait to add one more! Julia's 5ht birthday is right around the corner and pretty soon she will be starting her first day of Kindergarten. Wow! A five year old and school starting. I knew this day would come, but it sure did come fast! I think she is beyond ready. She is intelligent and ready to make lots of friends. She is one of the sweetest little girls and always tries to make new friends at the park. I love her with all my heart and can't wait for her to do so many exciting things this year.
John graduates from LVN school on Friday! We are so happy for him and so very proud of him. This is just one more stepping stone to his RN, which he will hopefully start May 2011 and complete May 2012.
I am over halfway though my English 2 class, which is a stepping stone to my BSN. I think I have done well, but I also realize that I am a very busy mom and work outside the home. All these things, plus the fact that I'm only 8 weeks aways from delivering baby girl make me think that I am a little too busy for school right now. I will probably try to take a class here and there and if it takes me a while to get my bachelors degree, no problem, I am here first and foremost for my kids.

Pregnancy Update Week 24!

It's hard to say if this pregnancy is going fast or slow. Seems fast at times and slow at others. I have tried to tell myself to enjoy and cherish it; is that possible? I mean it may be my last pregnancy, but it's still pregnancy!! I haven't posted hardly anything about this one; mostly due to time and my usual lack of enjoyment of pregnancy. I have felt pretty good lately. Since about 18 weeks I have felt much better. I'm no longer vomiting and I usually don't get nauseated anymore. Plus, I'm not nearly as exhausted. Of course, now is the growing belly phase. I find myself thinking of when the baby will come, but mostly I keep telling myself to slow down and enjoy the pregnancy and the last little while with only two kids. I know it will never be the same and I'm sure it will only be better and I will wonder how we ever lived with out our new little girl to be. Until then, I find myself holding Bryce and knowing that although he is looking bigger and bigger and more like a little boy he is still so small and he is my baby boy! Julia is also still pretty young; not quite 5 yet. I am glad that I've had my kids fairly close together and know that it has helped Julia and her brother bond. I hope they both share similar bonds with the baby girl #2. No, no name yet. That's just not how we usually do it. I have been thinking of names, but John is still in veto mode. Hopefully soon. We usually narrow it down by about 7-8 months. We don't have too much longer. I don't even think I have one picture of myself this entire pregnancy. Though I have thought about snapping a few pictures, not having one is not entirely by mistake. I actually had gotten down to smaller than I had been since before I had Bryce, but still had a few more pounds I wanted to lose before getting pregnant again. At any rate, I kept thinking that I didn't look pregnant yet, only chubby. That was reaffirmed a week and a half ago when a patients family member asked my how many children I had, if any. I replied two and one on the way. She said, "oh I just thought you were a little tubby." TUBBY? Really?? Who says that to someone? Oh well, some people are just rude. I think I'm finally starting to look pregnant. In two weeks my friend Joy is going to take my family pictures! Woo Hoo! I always want pictures of the kids and John, but I'm always a little hesitant of having my pics made too. To top it off, I'm going to look a little tubby! Joy is AMAZING though and I know I will treasure the pictures she captures.
